PATRONS DRAW 2020
Our new 2020 Patrons Draw is coming SOON. We are going to be calling to houses in the coming days and weeks as part of a HUGE effort this year to fund raise for the beginning of construction of our clubhouse. Every single family will be urged to buy at least one ticket (€50 for 10 monthly draws) who either play for this club or have a child playing for this club.
We will also be asking our regular annual patrons within the community to continue with their unparalleled support which has given this club so much through the years of development.
Everyone associated with this club is asked to understand that nothing can be put in place for free and that special efforts are needed if we are to collectively ensure that the final piece of our development jigsaw is put in place without saddling our club with debt for future generations. The Ballymackey FC delegation which made a winning presentation to FAI judges at the Club of the Year 2018 which was held at the FAI Delegates Conference in Rochestown Park Hotel last Friday night - l/r: Eddie Ryan, George Haverty (Ballymackey FC Chairman), Jennifer Haverty, John Delaney, Ciaran Tinkler.
BALLYMACKEY FC HAS BEEN AWARDED CLUB OF THE YEAR 2018 BY THE FAI AT THEIR DELEGATES CONFERENCE IN CORK LAST FRIDAY!
IN DOING SO, BALLYMACKEY FC BECOMES THE FIRST FOOTBALL CLUB IN CO. TIPPERARY TO WIN THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD!
The club sent a 5 member delegation to the event to make a 15 minute powerpoint presentation followed by 10 minute question and answer session with the 5 member judging panel which included our Chairman, George Haverty, Jennifer Haverty, John Delaney, Eddie Ryan and Ciaran Tinkler.
After a very long day and night which saw many dozens of awards presented, the final presentation was the Club of the Year Award with the winner being announced after midnight.
FAI Chief Executive Officer, John Delaney began the announcement by saying the winning club was "a club I know quite well", he reminisced about being driven through the muck in a range rover before groundworks had even started in the club over eight years ago, how the club had 140 girls playing for it and was located in a hurling stronghold......FROM NORTH TIPPERARY! As soon as he said that, gasps of anticipation could be heard around the Ballymackey FC table before John Delaney finally said the magic words: "...and the winner of FAI Club of the Year 2018 is BALLYMACKEY FC!"
Wild scenes of celebration followed before the delegation went up on stage to be handed the Club of the Year 2018 plaque and a cheque for €5,000.
This is an award for everyone who contributed to making our club the now nationally recognised success it is, whether players/coaches/parents/parents/committee members/sponsors/ticket buyers/ground staff - Ballymackey FC would not be what it is today without your time and commitment.
THANK YOU ALL!
GEORGE HAVERTY INDUCTED INTO NT&DL HALL OF FAME
